Machine Maintenance Tech II/ Millwright

Job Type: Full- Time
Rate: $27/hr - $30/hr
1st Shift: 7am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday

Position Summary/Objective

Job Summary - As a key member of the Maintenance team, the Machine Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring all machines are in proper working condition to minimize downtime and to meet plant and department requirements. This position performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure production goals are met. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager but will also take direction from Production Managers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

• Follow all safety rules, including use of Personal Protective Equipment including hearing and eye protection, and safety shoes.
• Ensure operation of equipment to meet plant or department requirements.
• Able to identify issues before they become severe.
• Troubleshoots to resolve basic to intermediate technical issues.
• Diagnose and determine root causes of problems, repair, or replace units as necessary.
• Discuss findings or results with department personnel, develop solutions to problems and provide a basis on which corrections are made.
• Make recommendations concerning changes to equipment, improvements or installations and upkeep based on findings.
• Performs more complex repairs and PMs independently.
• Performs predictive maintenance requirements.
• Assists in installation of new equipment and relocation of existing equipment.
• Advises manager of any areas of concern for machine performance.
• Notifies manager of any deviation from process, maintenance, and safety standards.

Secondary Functions & Responsibilities:

• Maintains all tool inventory and shop equipment in good working order and repair.
• Participates as a key member of Brickle Group teams, and actively contribute to our culture of continuous improvement.
• May travel locally to all Brickle locations up to 10% of the time.
• Understands and utilizes Lean Tools and concepts.
• Effective at formally or informally training others.
• Understands and may assist in documenting standardized work.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment, determine type necessary, and repair machines using tools needed.
• Ability to use power drills, saws, pullers, and hand tools.
• Electrical knowledge a plus.
• Ability to determine kinds of equipment and tools required to do the job.
• A minimum of 2 trade skills such as welding, electrical, or machine lathe use.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience.
• Knowledge of the English language, and ability to articulate technical issues and concerns.
• Good oral and written communication skills required.
• Knowledge of math and proficiency using measuring tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with all levels within the organization, as an individual contributor and team player.
• Flexibility to work on call occasionally.
• Forklift experience a plus.

Education & Experience

• 1-2 years industrial maintenance experience required.
• High School or GED Diploma preferred.
• Vocational training in a technical trade preferred.
• Textile industry experiences a plus.

Machine Operator I – BIT

Job Type: Full- Time
1st Shift, Monday to Thursday 6am - 4:30pm (potential overtime Friday)
Rate: $20/HR - $24/HR

Position Summary/Objective

As a key member of the Bouckaert Industrial Textiles Production team, the Machine Operator I will set up, run, and change over textile machines independently with a focus on quality, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The Operator will follow standard procedures to efficiently produce high quality products in a timely manner. This position is also accountable for inspection of goods, and documenting results.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

• Follow all safety rules, including Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment including hearing, eye protection, and safety shoes.
• Operate at least one textile machine independently.
• Set up, run and change-over and clean assigned equipment.
• Keep the machine in good working condition by properly cleaning.
• Keep work area neat and organized according to 5S Standards.
• Make minor machine adjustments within accepted ranges to ensure the quality and efficiency of the operations. Follow escalation process for more complex machine issues.
• Complete work within expected time frame of production job.
• Monitors metal detectors for alarm and retrieves needles from material, as needed.
• Understand basics of all components of the machines they have been trained on.
• Review job documentation before beginning job and ask questions to Supervisor if unsure of instructions.
• Document work clearly and accurately in Tulip, POUT, Job Packet and hour by hour charts.
• Communicate daily with Supervisors regarding any issues or concerns and provides status updates to all shifts.
• Identify quality issues both incoming to their operation and created by their operatio

Education & Experience:

• 1 year of manufacturing experience required.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience or knowledge of textile industry a plus
