Machine Maintenance Technician II

Position Summary

As a key member of the Maintenance team, the Maintenance Machine Technician will be responsible for ensuring all machines are in proper working condition to minimize downtime and to meet plant and department requirements. This position performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure production goals are met. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager but will also take direction from Production Managers.

Essential Functions

• Ensure operation of equipment to meet plant or department requirements.
• Able to identify issues and roadblocks before they become severe
• Troubleshoots to resolve basic to intermediate technical issues
• Diagnose and determine root causes of problems, make corrections, repair, or replace units as necessary.
• Discuss findings or results with department personnel, develop solutions to problems and provide a basis on which corrections are made.
• Make recommendations concerning changes to equipment, improvements or installations and upkeep based on findings.
• Performs more complex repair and PM independently on equipment
• Performs maintenance requirements as per preventative maintenance schedule.
• Assists in installation of new equipment and relocation of existing equipment.
• Advises supervisor of any areas of concern for machine performance
• Notifies supervisor of any deviation from process, operational quality, maintenance, and safety standards.
• Conducts tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality on machine performance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment, determine type necessary, and repair machines using tools needed.
• Ability to use power drills, and saws, pullers, and hand tools.
• Electrical knowledge a plus
• Ability to determine kinds of equipment and tools required to do the job.
• A minimum of 2 trade skills such as welding, electrical, or machine lathe use
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience
• Knowledge of the English language, and ability to articulate technical issues and concerns.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Knowledge of math, proficiency in arithmetic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with all levels within the organization, as an individual contributor and team player
• Assures complete and accurate communication to internal customers
• Ability to work independently and make decisions.
• Flexibility to work on call schedule, including varying shifts.
• Forklift certification a plus.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma required. Vocational training and Associates Degree in a technical trade preferred.
• 1-2 years of related experience required.
• Textile industry experiences a plus. Knowledge of carding, needling, finishing, blending, flat and rotary press preferred.

Salary: $26.99 per hour

Plant Manager

Position Summary

The plant manager will oversee all the daily manufacturing operations of the plant. This role is also responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, product quality, production output and on-time delivery in a continuous improvement manufacturing facility.

Essential Functions

• Plan, organize, and direct day-to-day operations in the plant to meet and exceed budget/production goals by effectively allocating resources and maximizing the utilization of assets to produce optimal results.
• Balances production plan and staffing weekly to balance workload to customer demand.
• Ensures the proper training and development of employees in the knowledge and skills necessary for an efficient, safe, and flexible workforce
• Align department goals and initiatives with the strategic goals of the company and provide a clear sense of direction and focus to the employees.
• Ensure all employees are compliant with all safety requirements.
• Develop, implement, and sustain standard work procedures including quality standards (for materials, components & finished products) that are developed, followed, and updated.
• Develop systems and processes to track and optimize productivity and performance targets.
• Monitor operations and analyze data to trigger corrective actions and provide reports to senior management.
• Lead, coach, and mentor others through continuous improvement activities to eliminate waste. Ensure effective collaboration of problem-solving activities with engineering, maintenance, and production staff.
• Ensure processes surrounding inventory management and production control activities are in place and followed. The flow of product and information is planned, known, and followed.
• Through personal actions of integrity, ensures that there is a sense of passion, trust, dignity, and respect that inspires a culture of employee engagement and personal accountability.
• Facilitates and authorizes repairs or maintenance for production tools and equipment.
• Collaborates with purchasing department to verify, review, maintain, and report on materials and production inventories.
• Informs Sales and customer service of events that could impact on-time delivery.
• Effectively communicates in a timely manner with senior management the plans/results as well as the problems/opportunities

Education & Experience

• BS in business or technical field preferred
• 5-10 years in managerial manufacturing or operations roles
• Demonstrated experience in Lean manufacturing
• Utilizes positive discipline to support behavior change and drive personal accountability in subordinates.
• Strong team building, decision making and people management skills.
• Strong commitment to employee development with coaching and mentoring.
• Textile industry experience a plus.

Rate of Pay

Salary: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
