Production Supervisor

Job Type: Full- Time
Pay: $57,189/ per year

Position Summary/Objective

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day supervision of employees and is responsible for the continuous flow of information and product through the production floor. This position will proactively identify and escalate any issues with safety, quality, machine maintenance and bottlenecks in production. This role will provide leadership and coaching to employees to meet departmental goals while supporting company core values in a Lean manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

• Manage day-to-day scheduling, attendance, time off, and allocation of staffing resources based on production goals and direction from the production manager.
• Lead by example to support company policies and provide fair and consistent treatment to all employees.
• Monitor employee performance to identify training and coaching opportunities and disciplinary action when necessary.
• Meet regularly with 1st shift and maintenance to communicate information, troubleshoot problems, and promote teambuilding between shifts.
• Ensures safe work practices are always followed, such as the proper PPE.
• Conduct a morning team meeting.
• Direct employees on the equipment they will be running to meet the production schedule.
• Coordinate shift start up by directing employees and resources where they are needed to maximize efficiency.
• Coordinate material handlers, machine assistants and general laborers to set up and prepare materials for jobs in a timely manner.
• Ensure that tools and equipment needed on the floor are available and in good working order.
• Monitor stock of supplies and advise your manager when items need to be reordered.
• Sign off on job setups.
• Monitor work on an hourly basis to ensure that all job specifications and production goals are being met and follow the escalation process when they are not.
• Monitor standard operating procedures are being followed by the employees.
• Monitor 5S plus safety.
• Participate in Gemba walks, Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist employees with completing action items on Gemba newspapers and implementing improvement ideas.
• Monitor and assist with accurate information and data being recorded in Tulip and in the job packages.
• Monitor production charts, work orders, production schedules, and other reports to determine manufacturing requirements.

Education & Experience

• 3-5 years of related manufacturing experience required.
• 1-2 Years of Supervisory Leadership required.
• Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing preferred.
• Textile industry machine experience a plus.

Machine Maintenance Tech II/ Millwright

Job Type: Full- Time
Pay: $26.99/hr

Position Summary/Objective

As a key member of the Maintenance team, the Maintenance Machine Technician will be responsible for ensuring all machines are in proper working condition to minimize downtime and to meet plant and department requirements. This position performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure production goals are met. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager but will also take direction from Production Managers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

• Follow all safety rules, including use of Personal Protective Equipment including hearing and eye protection, and safety shoes.
• Ensure operation of equipment to meet plant or department requirements.
• Able to identify issues before they become severe.
• Troubleshoots to resolve basic to intermediate technical issues.
• Diagnose and determine root causes of problems, repair, or replace units as necessary.
• Discuss findings or results with department personnel, develop solutions to problems and provide a basis on which corrections are made.
• Make recommendations concerning changes to equipment, improvements or installations and upkeep based on findings.
• Performs more complex repairs and PMs independently.
• Performs predictive maintenance requirements.
• Assists in installation of new equipment and relocation of existing equipment.
• Advises manager of any areas of concern for machine performance.
• Notifies manager of any deviation from process, maintenance, and safety standards.

Education & Experience

• 1-2 years industrial maintenance experience required.
• High School or GED Diploma preferred.
• Vocational training in a technical trade preferred.
• Textile industry experiences a plus.

Machine Operator Assistant

Job Type: Full- Time
Pay: $18.06/hr

Position Summary/Objective

As a key member of The Brickle Group Production team, The Machine Operator Assistant is responsible for the movement of material to and from the machine, ensuring the machine is supplied with correct raw material for processing, removing finished product and delivering it to the shipping department. Assist Machine Operators in loading fiber and removing finished product. Assist with set-up and change-over including cleaning equipment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

- Follow all safety rules, including Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment including hearing, eye protection, and safety shoes.
- Locates and supplies materials to machine operators.
- Assist with set-up and change-over including cleaning equipment.
- Weighs, straps, bags, and makes labels for finished goods.
- Assists in performing in-process quality inspections.
- Inform supervisor of any material needs as they arise.
- Maintains in-process inventory by labeling WIP correctly in POUT or job packets by verifying material lot and quantity.

Education & Experience

- 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience running a forklift / Forklift certified preferred.

Winder/Twister Operator

Job Type: Full- Time
Pay: $18.06/hr

Position Summary/Objective

Responsible for ensuring quality yarn is made on the winder and twister. Load creel and twister and doff the yarn. Monitor production for quality and fix breaks in the yarn.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

- Follow all safety rules, including Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment including hearing, eye protection, and safety shoes.
- Assist with set-up and change-over including cleaning equipment.
- Load tubes of yarn into the winder and/or twister and thread the machine.
- Monitor the machine and yarn for quality and breaks. Repair breaks with a weaver’s knot.
- Doff the finished yarn packages and replace empty cones.
- Ensure products are correctly labeled.
- Assist in performing in-process quality inspections.
- Collect and label samples for quality testing.
- Assist in preparing finished products for shipment by moving to staging area and recording information.
- Uses material handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, carts, etc.
- Notify production lead or manager of any quality or equipment issues.

Education & Experience

- 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with textile or yarn making equipment a plus.

Process Technician/ Engineer II

Job Type: Full- Time
Salary: $92,000-$100,000/ per year

Position Summary/Objective

The Process Engineer II will oversee Process Engineer I and assist VP, Manufacturing in the Development, configuration and optimization of industrial processes from inception through to start-up, insuring consistency and high quality in the manufacturing of all products.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

 • Develop a thorough understanding of all our manufacturing processes and products.
• Assist in specifying equipment and process requirements for the development of new products or product improvement.
• Coordinate resolution of technical and process problems and technical modifications.
• Assist in manufacturing productivity and quality improvements on the production floor.
• Research, conduct and test trials and sample runs, documenting results.
• Develops project plans and manages projects from inception to completion.
• Directs the work of Process Engineer I.
• Works with Safety to ensure proper safety set-up and safeguards for all new equipment.
• Reports to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
• Keep abreast of changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies that affect production.

Education & Experience

• BS Degree in Engineering preferred.
• 5-8 years’ experience with fiber preparation, carding and needle-punch manufacturing.
• Experience implementing process and quality improvements in a manufacturing environment.
• Impeccable math and statistical analysis skills.
• Previous project management experience with knowledge of project management software.

Shipper/Receiver

Job Type: Full- Time
Pay: $19.00

Position Summary/Objective

The Shipper/Receiver will prepare, organize, and move items for shipment, verify, inspect, document, and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and arrange for transportation of products. To support these duties, the Shipper/ Receiver will operate a forklift or other trucks, assemble, address, and ship products; receive, unpack, verify and record incoming materials. Reporting to the manager, the Shipper/Receiver will follow standard procedures to efficiently deliver high quality products in a timely manner to meet the needs of our customers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

• Inspect material contents and compare with packing list to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting purposes.
• Follow standard operations procedures to process shipments in ERP system and UPS system.
• Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins. Lift, move, load, and unload materials.
• Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter.
• Communicate any quality, delivery, customer issues to manager to ensure delivery targets are met.
• Store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Provide instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
• Perform daily cycle counts of inventory.
• Communicate daily to manager regarding any issues of concern and provide status updates.

Competencies, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge and understanding of production, processing, inventory, and trucking.
• Ability to operate a forklift in a manufacturing environment. Certification preferred.
• Excellent time management skills, organizational, planning, problem solving, and attention to detail required.
• Ability and follow procedures, interpret instructions, and follow through on tasks to meet schedules.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively with a team in a fast-paced work environment.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to communicate well with all levels and departments of the organization.
• Intermediate math skills required. Proven proficiency with data required.
• Demonstrated experience with 5S a plus.
• Flexibility to work overtime as requested and a varied shift as business needs arise. Dependability, punctuality, and integrity a must.
